About ScoreCast24

ScoreCast24 is based on a football prediction game that has been played in British prisons in one recognisable form or another for well over a decade.

The traditional version is simple. Players pay a small entry fee, usually £1 from their weekly canteen allowance, and predict the scores of a round of football fixtures. Points are awarded based on the accuracy of those predictions, and at the end of the round the player with the highest score wins the prize pot. The organiser and score tally counter often take a small share for running the competition.

Despite its simplicity, the game generates enormous excitement. Entire wings can become invested in the outcome of a weekend's football, with competitions often coming down to a single late kick-off. In many cases, only two players remain in contention by the final match, creating a head-to-head battle where every goal matters. Sometimes the finalists agree to split the winnings before lock-up, while others choose to let the final whistle decide the winner.

Over time, variations of the game have spread beyond prison walls and into workplaces, social clubs and groups of friends, serving as a modern alternative to the football pools that were once popular across Britain.

Developed by RobTechUK, one of the UK's newest independent game developers, ScoreCast24 takes the traditional paper-based prediction game and brings it to the web. The platform is currently being trialled during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, allowing players to predict scores, compete against rivals and follow their progress through a live leaderboard.

Our goal is to create the definitive online version of the game while keeping the simplicity and excitement that made the original so popular. We are currently testing and refining the platform, and we are 99% confident that ScoreCast24 will be fully operational for the 2026/27 football season. Future developments may include enhanced statistics, private leagues, additional competitions and, where permitted by law, cash-prize tournaments.
